My Favorite Places to Shop Online for Home Decor

I’ve always been a big online shopper and now that I have a child I definitely don’t see that changing anytime soon! I like knowing pretty much all available options for a product - I’m never happy buying something like a coffee table until I see every coffee table available and make sure I’m getting the best one! It’s a little neurotic but it is the only way I can operate. Online shopping allows me to scratch that itch and research obsessively, and it’s so much fun! Here are some of the stores I go to again and again for furniture and home accessories.

AllModern

AllModern

AllModern is a subset of Wayfair and offers great prices on furniture, rugs and more. They offer all styles of “modern” from contemporary to mid-century and everything in between! I like shopping at the subsets of Wayfair, AllModern and Joss & Main, because the selection is more curated and not as overwhelming.

Amazon

We all know Amazon and while there are complaints about the company it is a great place to pick up home basics, especially if you are on a time crunch! The quality can vary quite a bit, so it definitely takes some hunting to find the real gems, but they are out there!

Anthropologie

Anthropologie

For the most fun decorative items, and great seasonal decor, you can’t beat Anthropologie. From accent plates to candles, fun vases to gorgeous mirrors, they have such a happy, cheerful selection. Prices on furniture and certain pieces can be high, but the quality is there. This isn’t the place to go for your basics but is such a fun place to shop! Many items have a bohemian or vintage flair, which isn’t my style, but there is plenty that fits all different design styles!

CB2

CB2 is a more modern branch of Crate & Barrel. It used to be less expensive but now I would say prices rival Crate & Barrel! Their pieces are trendier and more stylish than Crate & Barrel but still great quality and built to last!

Crate & Barrel

If I could afford to deck out my entire home in Crate & Barrel I 100% would! Their pieces are timeless yet still stylish, well made, and they have great customer service. Their style is pretty contemporary but still approachable and warm - not overly trendy but definitely on trend. Their prices are on the higher end but the quality is there! It is a great place to purchase investment furniture or larger pieces that you want to last.

Crate & Barrel

H&M Home

For great seasonal, inexpensive accessories, H&M Home is a great place to shop! They have a pretty good selection of things like cloth napkins, pillow covers, baskets and other home accent pieces. I have gotten a few things I didn’t like, such as some cloth pillow cases that weren’t very soft and cozy, but overall the quality is generally good for the price!

Joss&Main

Joss&Main is another offshoot of Wayfair and is probably my favorite online “discount” shop - they sell tons of brands at different price points. The style is contemporary but not overly modern - on trend but not too trendy. It is more curated than Wayfair, so less overwhelming to shop there! I have been finding prices going up though, and some things being more expensive than traditional retailers like Crate & Barrel. So, make sure to comparison shop.

Ikea

While Ikea may not be the “sexiest” place to shop for furniture and home accessories, they do make some great pieces for great prices! The DIY component keeps costs down, and while the quality isn’t always there, they do sell pieces that can last a very long time. There are often easy hacks to customize pieces - even just adding different drawer pulls to a dresser can make their pieces super elevated! I also love some basics there like dish towels, plant pots and storage jars.

Target

Target

I feel like it is kind of “basic” to love shopping at Target, but I love shopping at Target! I find their home decor to be super stylish, on trend, good quality, and at really good prices! They are great for basics like storage baskets, throw pillows and area rugs to seasonal items. They have a variety of different home decor lines that cater to different decorating styles, so it is easy to narrow down what you might like. My biggest online shopping tip at Target is to narrow your search by Brand - Target Brands to not see the drop shipping options and only see specific Target items, which are the ones I love.

West Elm

Sometimes West Elm can kind of lean a little too Mid-Century Modern for my taste, but I think they also have lots of versatile pieces that can work in any home. I particularly love them for their decorative pieces - table decor, throw pillows, seasonal accents and that sort of thing. I always buy my duvet covers at West Elm - they are 100% cotton for a great price! I’ve heard that their couches and chairs aren’t the comfiest and don’t wear well, so buyer beware on those sort of items from West Elm!

World Market

World Market is another place that doesn’t necessarily match my style, but I’m still able to find great pieces there! The store can lean a little bohemian for me, but they do have some simple, classic pieces that are more versatile. Shopping in the store at World Market is so much fun because of all the food, candy and drinks, but online shopping is still so much fun. They have great pieces like accent trays, decorative napkins and fun table wear for really affordable prices.
