I just wanted to give all you home decor lovers a heads up on the app I'm now obsessed with! It is called Design Home and is available for both iPhone and Android devices. I downloaded it last week and have been loving it ever since.

The app is free, but there are LOTS of opportunities to spend money within the app. However, it is still fun without spending real money (which I am definitely not!). Basically, there are different design challenges that you get to enter. Each one is for a specific room, and they give you parameters for the design, such as luxe and modern or colorful and eclectic. There are some furniture items that are required and some that are optional. You do have to buy all of the furniture and decor items (using the in-app money!), but once you have purchased something you do have the ability to use it again for a certain number of times.

Each challenge lasts for a limited number of time, and then people vote on your design. You also can vote on others designs and earn keys, which allows you to enter more challenges. Getting a high score on your design can win you furniture items, and if you get a perfect score you get diamonds (which are used for shopping). You also get cash for entering in challenges.

There are more variables in the game, such as leveling up, but I will let you play around yourself! Basically though, you get to decorate a room that looks quite realistic for free, and it is a great way to practice your home design skills. There are definitely some drawbacks (I want more money!!!) but overall it is a fun app to have.
